My Published Work

The life of a writer is a life of rejection. It is a glorious day when a submission is accepted. Here is a list of my successes.

This anthology was produced as a an act of faith, hope, and love by a group of writers in Phoenix. Led by Sue Fulton, we plowed into the logistics of writing, editing, and self-publishing.

I have two pieces in this edition: a nonfiction personal essay, Deadheading Life, and an attempt at fiction, Alive.

It is thrilling to have work accepted by an organization who doesn't have to like you. This journal is produced by Hopkinsville Community College in Kentucky. It's is unique to include artwork as well as works by children.

This edition includes one personal essay: The Discomfort of Woke.

This book is a must read for people contemplating shared households. It is intended to assist in deciding if and how to share living space.

Available on Amazon.

Pumped by the first anthology, my Phoenix writing friends produced a second publication in 2024, and were thrilled to receive a Firebird aware.

I have two pieces in this edition: a nonfiction personal essay, Big Sky, and another attempt at fiction, Katie-May Does Merced.

To help the third generation stay connected, I produce books for each child including photos of all the grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and dogs.

Casey fell through the photo book crack. To make it up, I published a book just for him for his high school graduation.

Inspired by a family reunion at the Pfeiff Pfamily Pfarm in Iowa, I wrote a short story about the third generation, included photos of each of them, and recruited my sister-in-law to create the artwork. It's a cherished and rare classic.

This is the third anthology of which I have had a part. Although I did not contribute to the content, I participated in the early stages of planning and workshopping and am proud of the quality of the work. The committee included a lovely tribute to me, thus I include it here.
